Alison’s Presentation

Alison is a 3rd generation speaker; her grandparents, Paul and Elizabeth Brown were Holocaust survivors from Hungary. Alison tells her grandmother, Elizabeth’s story of survival in Auschwitz/Birkenau and on the Volary death march.

About Alison

Alison was raised in Pittsburgh, PA, received her undergraduate degree in History and Hebrew and Semitic Studies from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. She received a master’s degree in Social Work from the Wurzweiler School of Social Work at Yeshiva University. In 2002, Alison returned to Pittsburgh and has worked as a social worker in the fields of geriatrics, medical social work and disability. An avid reader and cooking enthusiast, Alison lives in Squirrel Hill with her husband and son.
