International Holocaust Remembrance Day
In 2005, the United Nations designated January 27 as International Holocaust Remembrance Day in memory of all victims of the Holocaust. This date marks the anniversary of Soviet troops liberating Auschwitz-Birkenau in 1945. The Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh observes this day annually with educational programming.
