Bill Peduto, the former mayor of Pittsburgh, is being honored for his leadership in supporting the Jewish community after the October 27, 2018, synagogue shooting. Currently, he is a Senior Advisor for the Strong Cities Network, a global organization empowering cities to better address hate, extremism and polarization.

Righteous Among the Neighbors is a project of the Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh that honors non-Jewish Pittsburghers who support the Jewish community and take action to uproot antisemitism. Bill Peduto is an honoree in the class of 2024.

In partnership with the LIGHT Education Initiative and Mt. Lebanon High School, student journalists have once again interviewed honorees and wrote article-length profiles about their efforts. This year, the articles will each be published in the Pittsburgh Jewish Chronicle!
