Educator of the Year Award
The Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh is accepting applications for the Holocaust Educator of the Year award thru Sunday, February 9, 2025, at 11:59 pm. The Holocaust Educator of the Year award was established 8 years ago by an anonymous donor, in the interest of recognizing and encouraging excellence in Holocaust education in the region.
Educators who meet the following criteria are encouraged to apply:
- Hold a teaching position in western Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio, or northern West Virginia;
- Currently teach the Holocaust in grades 6-12;
- Have at least two years of classroom experience teaching the Holocaust; and
- Conduct a Holocaust unit of at least one week with students.
The winner will be notified in April and will be publicly recognized at our annual Waldman Arts and Writing Award Ceremony on May 14, 2025.
