Pillars of Light: Holocaust Center

In August 2012, Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh held a call for glass artists to submit their “big ideas”. Artist Daviea Davis’s winning proposal: create spinning, lit glass pillars each expressing a local nonprofit. The Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh was one of thirteen nonprofits that participated in this project. This pillar is the result of Davis’s individualized research and understanding of our work.
Davis is a Pittsburgh-based glass mosaic artist working with salvaged glass. Her work is dedicated to creating lasting tributes to a time, place, or feeling.
